John Dues currently serves as Vice Chairman of Binswanger Advisory Services, Inc. and provides corporate and government support in the planning, acquisition, management and redeployment of real property assets designed to implement user objectives. Notable global clients include Bombardier Aerospace, ExxonMobil, Nextel, Gillette, Kohl’s, Exelon, Shell, Kohler, US Department of Defense, US Department of State, Urban Outfitters, and Amgen.
Mr. Dues has broad international business advisory experience in planning, evaluations and analysis, strategy development and selection. Particular to Corporate Real Estate, he has over 30 years of experience in the planning, acquisition, management and redeployment of real property assets for use in the business leading resources both internal and purchased.
Prior to joining Binswanger, Mr. Dues served as the General Director of Worldwide Real Estate for General Motors Corporation where he was responsible for overseeing the strategy, acquisition and disposition of real property assets for use around the world. Prior to joining General Motors, Mr. Dues was Worldwide Director of Corporate Real Estate Services practice for Arthur Andersen LLP where he had been involved in the full range of this practice supporting businesses, institutions and governments and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Services Group. Prior to joining Arthur Andersen, Mr. Dues was Founder and President of Mead Realty Group, Inc., as well as Director of Corporate Real Estate for the parent company, The Mead Corporation.
Mr. Dues holds a BBA degree from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Dayton. He also attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He is a member (former Director and past President) of CoreNet, a co-founder of the Corporate Real Estate Committee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a longtime member of the National Advisory Council of the Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA NAC), and a former member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP). He has served on the advisory committee for several business schools and has been a guest speaker at numerous meetings and conferences worldwide.
Mr. Dues has been awarded the Distinguished Leadership Award by the Industrial Development Research Council for his significant contributions to and outstanding achievements in the geo-economic profession. He also received the Leadership Award in Real Estate and Land Economics from the Homer Hoyt Advanced Studies Institute and has received the Master of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) designation from CoreNet.
