Advanced Technology Site Selection Expert Richard Sheehy Joins Binswanger’s Board of Experts

PHILADELPHIA, PA – APRIL 11, 2025 – Binswanger, a leader in specialized industrial real estate since 1931, today announced the appointment of Richard Sheehy to its Board of Experts, an integrated technical advisory and consulting practice. With over 30 years of experience in site evaluation and selection for semiconductor, advanced technology, and data center projects, Mr. Sheehy brings a highly specialized skillset in global manufacturing strategy, industrial site assessments, and incentive negotiations.

Mr. Sheehy has played a critical role in identifying and developing high-tech manufacturing hubs worldwide, including China, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, and Europe. His expertise spans semiconductor site selection, data center planning, and large-scale industrial site assessments, with a strong emphasis on total cost of ownership analysis for companies seeking strategic expansion opportunities.

Mr. Sheehy spent over 20 years as Director of Advanced Planning & Site Selection at Jacobs (formerly CH2M Hill), guiding global technology firms in selecting optimal sites for semiconductor and industrial manufacturing facilities. He also played a key role in shaping regional technology hubs in New York and Florida, as well as major semiconductor initiatives across North America.

Prior to his work at Jacobs, Mr. Sheehy held economic development leadership roles with the Oregon Economic Development Department (OEDD) and the Portland Development Commission, where he helped recruit world-class manufacturers, including Fujitsu Microelectronics, Hewlett-Packard, Hyundai Electronics, Samsung Semiconductor, Sony Disc Manufacturing, and Tokyo Electron America.
