A global biotech and manufacturing company based in Japan just bought a former AstraZeneca manufacturing site in Boulder, Colorado, where it plans to develop a massive manufacturing facility that could bring hundreds of jobs to the region.
AGC Biologics, which has its U.S. headquarters in Seattle, said it bought a 180,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at
5550 Airport Blvd. for $39.7 million, or $222.35 per square foot, according to records filed with Boulder County. AGC plans to develop a $100 million manufacturing facility on the site; this will be the company’s first development in Colorado, according to a company statement.
